Announcing Georgia’s First Owner-Operated Food Truck Association

At 4PM EST on 27th February 2017, the newly-formed Food Truck Association of Georgia (FTAG) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to publicly announce their formation, at the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce on 11605 Haynes Bridge Road in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The Food Truck Association of Georgia is the first food-truck-owner-operated association in Georgia and is already 35-members strong and growing.

FTAG Board Member Tony Harrison, owner of the Cousins Maine Lobster truck, has outlined five key priorities for the organization.

First, strengthening relationships with state and local officials to help make the regulatory framework easier for food trucks to operate, while maintaining strong health and inspection guidelines.

Second, opening up more public spaces for food trucks to operate, allowing them to be small business innovators and bringing affordable and spectacular cuisines to the hungry citizens of Georgia who are demanding more food trucks in easier to access spaces.

Third, improving current partnerships with food truck coordinators and event planners to create a more sustainable business model that creates win-win outcomes for all parties involved.

Fourth, to leverage the Association’s collective buying power to secure better relationships with food suppliers, mechanics, truck builders, insurance providers, and more.

And finally, improving education and support for new food truck operators, to assist them in sidestepping many of the pitfalls that exist in the industry, and providing a base of knowledge based on the years of experience of all members.

The Association has also announced a partnership with California-based Best Food Trucks, the premier, nationwide, food truck booking service, streamlining the ability for food truck event and lot organizers to easily book any of the Association’s 35 member trucks across the state of Georgia with just the click of a button.

Atlanta’s current market is severely underutilized compared to similar-sized cities, and the best way to competently serve this market is to give more control of event booking to the trucks themselves.

With this partnership, the Food Truck Association of Georgia is poised to help Georgia become a national leader in ground-breaking cuisine and small-business economic innovation, while offering the citizens of Georgia more choices in how they feed their families.
